Join AbelCine on Thursday, July 6 for this special free event in LA — Branded Content Roundtable.

Branded content is more in demand today than ever. Additionally, today’s technology offers uncompromised high production value, with small crews and affordable gear. This panel discussion will center on creative topics such as growing industry video trends, creating content for multiple platforms, engaging audiences, and maintaining authenticity while creating effective content. Additionally, the panel will dive into the process of content creation: shooting quickly, working with small crews & lightweight equipment, and keeping within your budget. Multiple and varied perspectives will be included, with representatives from brands and agencies, as well as working DPs and other creatives. The goal is to give an in-depth look at the many decisions that to into creating successful branded content. There will also be ample time for audience Q&A with the panelists.

Bryan Cook

Bryan is currently the Executive Content Producer and Director of Multimedia at Team One Advertising in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Team One, Bryan worked as an Editor and Post Producer for some of the best agencies, brands, networks and production shops in the world. Projects Bryan has worked on have been recognized by Ad Age, Adweek, Cannes, The Effies, FWA, The One Show, the Tellys, and the Tribeca Film Festival. Bryan is also the author of The Art of Short Form Content: From Concept to Color Correction which was published earlier this year by Focal Press and is an in-depth look at the craft of creating short form filmic content. bryancook.tv

Gev Miron

Gev is the leading creative force at MVH CREATIVEWORKS. Since 2003, he has been directing and producing commercials, music videos, promos and other short form content. He directed many projects for major companies with well known talent, including international campaigns for Orogold Cosmetics, commercials for Vine Vera Skin Care, a virtual reality experience for Universal Pictures featuring Tom Cruise, Facebook’s 360 video lab featuring numerous online talent, YouTube’s launch videos of their 360 platform, a virtual reality cooking series for Facebook, and many more. In the last couple of years Gev has been directing virtual reality content for the immersive entertainment company Surreal. Most recently, he won the Real-Time Academy’s 9th Annual Shorty Award for Best 360 Video for the production of the 68th Emmy Awards in 360, together with host Jimmy Kimmel and Executive Producer for the Emmy’s Don Mischer. www.mvhcreativeworks.com

Dinh Thai

Dinh Thai’s family fled during the Vietnam War, making a 5-year stop in France before immigrating to the US. He quickly acclimated to American culture, making many friends from diverse heritages and absorbing 80s and 90s pop-culture. This cultural mix is the foundation of his life. Recently, Dinh wrote and directed his first narrative piece since graduating college titled Monday. It’s a project that captures elements of his colorful suburban childhood — part fiction and part autobiography. The culmination is a fast-paced, quick-witted story about a young Asian-American hustler who struggles with the moral implications of his illicit occupation. Monday has won multiple festival awards and placed first in HBO’s inaugural APA Visionaries contest. It’s currently being developed into a TV series. Dinh is a partner of a small production company called Art and State, located in downtown Los Angeles. Sarah Weinstein

Sarah Weinstein came to Los Angeles to shoot documentaries in 2004 after more than four years as a writer, producer, “one-man band” and fill-in anchor at CNN International and CNN Headline News. Known for blending high-gloss visuals with uncompromising depth, Sarah’s soulful storytelling connects audiences to the everyday struggles and successes of her subjects — a philosophy that shines through in Sarah’s powerful interview with Katy Perry and extensive documentary footage featured in Paramount Pictures’ Katy Perry: Part of Me. Sarah regularly directs and shoots music videos, documentaries and behind-the-scenes “making of” content for the music industry. She has produced video content for the Grammy-nominated songwriting production team, The Matrix. She documented the making of The Matrix Record featuring Katy Perry, shot and directed EPKs and behind-the-scenes content for Korn’s See You on the Other Side album, and Ferras’ Aliens and Rainbows album, among many others.
