The HD Essentials series of classes focus on the many different aspects of working with HD video formats. From shooters to post production professionals, these classes will help anyone find their way through the maze of HD production. The series is broken down into eight parts – Camera Fundamentals, Understanding HD Formats and Compression, Audio for Location Recording, The Hows and Whys of Lighting, Workflows & Media Management, Introduction to Digital Cinema, The Secrets of Optics, and Choosing the Right Camera. These classes build on each other, but can also be taken individually.
This class is focused on the differences between many different camera formats and their respective workflows. Topics for comparing cameras include sensor size, resolution, form factor, lens choices, recording media & compression, workflows, and price. With these factors in mind, we will break down several different shooting scenarios and compare camera capabilities and performance.
This is a class for anyone wishing to learn more about HD production and looking to choose the right camera for their next production. Cameras that we compare include small sensor cameras (Sony EX1/3 and HPX250), 2/3″ Cameras (Panasonic or Sony), Large Sensor cameras (F3, AF100, C300), and Digital Cinema cameras (RED One, Arri Alexa). We will use many different methods to compare cameras and the attendees will have a chance to ask questions about all the options available today.
