This workshop gives attendees hands-on time with the latest Red cameras, and focuses on understanding camera operation, exposure techniques, and post production workflow. Shooting in Raw on the Red Epic & Scarlet is very different than working with more traditional video or film cameras.

This class is focused on the differences between many different camera formats and their respective workflows. Topics for comparing cameras include sensor size, resolution, form factor, lens choices, recording media & compression, workflows, and price. With these factors in mind, we will break down several different shooting scenarios and compare camera capabilities and performance.
As part of our Digital Technician series, this class is an introduction to Log recording and it’s applications. Participants will be presented with technical and aesthetic implications of shooting in different Log modes, and discussions will be part theory and part practical application. We will demonstrate methods for exposing for Log under different situations and tools used to give the best results.
This one day workshop covers the many functions of the F5 and F55, including detailed instruction on camera operation, lens choice, production techniques, and aftermarket accessories.
This class will teach the many properties of lenses, some of which can be garnered from reading technical specifications and others requiring years of experience and access to the equipment. Now the secret alchemy of optics will be revealed as we work through the various optical characteristics that help define a lens and its uses.
This workshop is part of the Digital Technician series and will demonstrate both the process for creating a LUT for cameras like the Alexa, Sony F3 & F65, and Red Epic, and then applying it in post. Both hardware and software will be demonstrated to produce LUTs, and software including Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Red Cine X will be used to show applications in post.
