VariCam Intensive

The VariCam 35, HS, and LT cameras combine the famous look of the original VariCam with the modern formats and functions of a digital cinema camera. The VariCam 35 is designed for cinematic use, offering a 4K sensor with 14+ stop of dynamic range. The VariCam LT is designed for cinematic use, similar features to the VariCam 35, with a compact form factor, making it a great choice for gimbal and drone usage. The VariCam HS is designed for run-and-gun work, and offers high-speed recording up to 240 fps. AbelCine has put together a course on how to use these powerful tools in a variety of ways.

This workshop covers the many functions of the VariCam 35, HS, and LT including detailed instruction on camera operation, looks, lens choice, production techniques, and accessories. We will discuss how to setup the camera for your project and how to get the best look for each shot. We will explore the shared and unique features of the VariCam 35, HS, and LT heads in terms of frame rates, and discuss how to quickly change between them. Emphasis is on developing an understanding of the camera sensor, internal recording options, looks and LUTS, lens choice, and menu systems.
