Participants will learn about analyzing images, primary and secondary tool sets, using layers, matching shots and grading styles.

AbelCine has partnered with the International Colorist Academy (ICA) to offer this advanced workshop for working colorists. In this practical, two-day workshop, participants will work with frequently requested grading styles and looks. The workshop will cover how to achieve these looks, as well as a discussion of the cultural meanings or concepts they impart to a project. The goal is to achieve new looks from old techniques.

In this two-day workshop, attendees will learn the skills necessary to work as a DIT, an essential and ever-evolving role on set. The workshop concentrates on the production of dailies, and all the tools, software and skills required to work quickly and efficiently. Along with the latest gear and techniques, the workshop will teach the artistry of the DIT.

This two-day, hands-on workshop is an excellent introduction to DaVinci Resolve 12. It is ideal for first time users, and you do not need to be a Colorist to attend. The workshop mixes the operational side of Resolve with some practical real world training on workflows, basic color theory, grading approaches and techniques. In this course, you will learn why “It’s more about the Art than the App.”

AbelCine has partnered with the International Colorist Academy (ICA) to offer this advanced DaVinci Resolve workshop for current Resolve Colorists and assistant operators. This two-day, hands-on workshop will look at color correction in general, as well as in DaVinci Resolve specifically. Participants will work through a short conformed sequence from start to finish using Resolve 12 and general colorist strategies.

This Color Grading Commercials Master Class is designed for professional colorists who are seeking additional training to prepare for employment at a high-end color grading facility. The ICA will confirm your registration for this workshop. Participants will work on a commercial from preparation for grading through to the final deliverables for multiple platforms. Besides color grading work, the workshop will also take an extensive look at the new features in DaVinci Resolve 12 for VFX, compositing and mastering from a commercial perspective.

In this two-day, hands-on workshop, participants will work on a theatrically released feature film project. Participants will gain experience by taking the film from preparation for grading through to the final deliverables. Attendees will also get an extensive look at the new features in DaVinci Resolve 12 for non-linear editing and finishing from a feature film perspective.

While DaVinci Resolve is a widely accepted tool for color correction or finishing, it has also proven to be an invaluable application for on-set and near set use. With powerful tools for building and applying LUTs, as well as flexible transcoding options, Resolve is an important tool for every cinematographer to understand.
