This Compositing Workshop will demonstrate how to create your own multi layered video image utilizing a green screen backdrop. To illustrate techniques in discussion we will use a basic interview camera and lighting set-up. Then to process our “comps” we will use “Chroma Key” based hardware and software. The goal is to give you the know-how to create your own compelling composite images.

AbelCine joins forces with Light Extreme for a workshop covering the technical and creative aspects of cinematic expression. This workshop is designed as both hands-on and demonstration in motion picture lighting methodology. The workshop will cover the basic elements of lighting mood that cannot be created in post. These include: lighting style, exposure ratio, lighting ratio, light quality and light direction.

This workshop teaches how to use framing and lighting techniques to create the desired mood. Through a combination of lectures, real world examples, and hands-on practice, attendees will learn the traditional rules of cinematography and current trends in production.

AbelCine has partnered with Peter Stein, ASC to present Techniques in Cinematography. One of the best ways to develop a good eye is by looking at the work of the masters. In this 4-hour workshop, Peter will review hard vs. soft light, the direction of the key, the ratio of key to fill, and how these techniques create mood.

This workshop covers composition, camera movement, perspective and camera/actor choreography. You will learn what makes a composition “work” by looking at still frames from notable films, as well as perspective, different lenses, rack focus and the interplay of camera and actor motion.
